Are you someone who is trying to live a healthier lifestyle?
The key to achieving this lifestyle all comes from one’s diet! This would
entail everything that you consume daily. Next time you are craving sugary
foods such as chocolate or candy, take a second to think of how this will
affect your lifestyle and try to substitute the craving for fruit or vegetables!
Maybe the sugary food will taste good and satisfy your craving, but other than
that, what are the benefits you gain? From taking these sugary foods out of
your diet alone, researchers indicate that the individual will now have higher
energy levels, a stronger immune system, a better sleep, an improved gut and
overall health, and a higher chance to achieve weight loss. Therefore, next
time you develop one of these cravings, I encourage you to ask yourself “Will
this help me?” and when the answer is no, try to develop the habit to instead reach
for healthy alternatives!
Nutrition is an Important Aspect for Fitness?
When it comes to eating certain foods to enhance your exercise
performance, we are not just speaking about choosing fruit and vegetables over
chocolate. We are going in more depth towards choosing the beneficial types of
food at a specific time of day. For example, it is quite important to eat
breakfast daily especially on days where you will exercise. In addition, it is
important to not rely simply on carbohydrates such as a bagel or doughnut as
that will not give you energy for long. It shows that having a fiber- and protein-rich
breakfast will provide you with more energy and satisfy your hunger. Throughout
the day, the Mayo
Clinic indicates that 45-60% of one’s consumption will be from
carbohydrates alone. The main carbohydrates that will help drive your body’s
energy are whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and beans because of the necessary
vitamins and minerals they provide. One last key aspect of nutrition is being
able to maximize protein intake through daily snacks and meals. I believe
protein is one of if not the most beneficial nutrition aspect for fitness as it
has several purposes. For example, protein is needed to help your body grow,
maintained, and repaired. Protein is also quite essential for building and
repairing muscles which is beneficial for the people working out! The reasoning
is that every high intensity workout one performs, their muscles will always tear
which causes your body to be sore. The goal of protein is to build more muscle
to help you feel stronger as well as repairing your body post workout to not
feel as sore. Lastly, when having a consistent protein intake, this can help
you get through your daily workouts without feeling sore afterwards!
Overall, this blog is intended to provide information on key
nutrition tips to help you live a healthier lifestyle and assist in your
fitness journey! I encourage all of you to really focus on developing a healthy
diet immediately as you will quickly feel more energetic and notice the
everlasting results! We all start somewhere and now it is your turn! If you
