When you are purchasing items from a company, there are always Brand Ambassadors associated with that company. The goal of a Brand Ambassador is to represent and advertise a given company while supporting its offers and actions. Brand Ambassadors are experts when it comes to the knowledge about the brand regardless if it is online or offline. Brand Ambassadors do not need to have fixed qualifications and can sometimes even be employees of the company. The key role of a Brand Ambassador is to establish a strong relationship between the company and the customer. The reason is because a company is nothing without customers, so if your Brand Ambassadors can establish a working relationship, it will be easier to attract new customers and be successful. You will be able to connect with Ambassadors through various social media channels as well as through advertisements of the company. As you connect with Brand Ambassadors, they can provide opportunities to become a Brand Ambassador for a given company or direct you in the right direction! Now, how do you know if someone is a Brand Ambassador? The answer is while you are scrolling through Instagram/social media, and you come across a post, let’s say by Gymshark for example, of someone wearing Gymshark accessories. You can confidently say that the person is a Brand Ambassador as they are promoting the Gymshark brand. That person will often be tagged in the photo as well, which allows you to reach out to them if you have any questions.
Brand Ambassadors are not free and must be paid accordingly based on the amount of time and work they put in to advertise/promote the company. Brand Ambassadors often promote the company through their own hours and according to sites like Glassdoor, Indeed, and Payscale, the average salary of Brand Ambassador varies between $20,000 and $58,000 per year. However, companies differ when it comes to compensating Brand Ambassadors as several companies prefer to pay Ambassadors through commission rather than salary base. This can be beneficial for the company as the ambassadors who put in more work than others to promote the company will earn a higher compensation and will incentivize all ambassadors to advertise on a more frequent basis. Some other benefits of being a Brand Ambassador include discounted company products to be able to try and promote the new products. Through experience, I had been a brand ambassador with a fitness company and I received several discounted supplements to try out and see which ones I enjoyed the most. Personally, I find being a Brand Ambassador worth the time as the benefits outweigh the costs of simply promoting the company.
· Brand Ambassadors serve as a face for the company and attract more customers compared to a brand that just serves as a name or image.
· An example of a Brand Ambassador would be the star athlete Connor McDavid with the CCM Hockey Brand as well as the Biosteel company. Connor McDavid serves as the face for these brands when individuals watch their favourite hockey player play with all CCM equipment and causes them to be just like him and buy the CCM brand. The same goes with the Biosteel company, as Biosteel provides supplements for hydration in order to have energy to get you through your day or workout!
· The recruiting process is enhanced as they help market the company and attract several new buyers through advertising and word of mouth. For example, if a Canadian company wants to expand globally and reach out to European countries, they can expand their target market with the assistance of a European influencer.
· They can help through the Company’s social media presence as an ambassador often has a large social media following which will allow them to direct traffic and clicks to my company’s website
· Brand Ambassadors are key to attract customers as they always provide their honest input to any customer questions. Additionally, customers often have difficulty switching to a brand they may not know a lot about, so the role of a Brand Ambassador would be to respond to all a customer’s inquiries to provide them all the required knowledge. This in turn would help the customer feel more confident in switching brands!
Overall, this blog is intended to provide information on what is a Brand Ambassador and their associated roles. A company can never have too many Brand Ambassadors and often, the companies with more ambassadors tend to have the largest customer following. If you are interested at all in becoming an ambassador for my company or have any questions in general, I encourage you to reach out to myself through email as soon as possible and we can strive together and achieve a higher purpose!
